The U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs

The U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs

The City of Colorado Springs is often called the city of choice since most of its residents consist of a population that arrived here by choice; many due to the colorful changes in the seasons, others for the indoor/outdoor availability in sports, some for the year-round abundant sunshine and others to just bask in its timeless  entrepreneurial spirit. It is of no surprise that it became one of the ideal places for an Olympic Training program for it allows a unique atmosphere for the development of high altitude strength endurance, training for diverse sports with the working changes in the seasons, and a unique environment that fosters concentration along with tested advanced Olympic Training technology.

Many of the Olympic training's available include swimming, water polo, shooting, boxing cycling, volleyball, tennis gymnastics, and wrestling among others. The Colorado Springs Olympic facility has specific training sections throughout the year that are geared to engage the athlete in a motivating yet competitive environment. Many athletes live and train daily with other great athletes at the facility. "Colorado Springs features the Aquatic center, Sport Centers I and II, International Center for Aquatic Research, the Velodrome, the Olympic Shooting Center and the Olympic Visitor center." (Info-please.com, 2011). It also has a long track record in advanced training for many such as that is for the Olympic aquatic fitness training group in which athletes get to check their underwater performance and stroke techniques via computerized filmed playback.  Even visitors are able to see some of these unique training's and under water views. The Olympic Training center is not just for athletes but also for the average 140,000 visitors per year from around the world that get a chance to witness firsthand the dedication in preparation in training by the athletes via direct observation and also get to share in the greatness that is the Olympics. Taking a tour and a walk across the Olympic path certainly motivates anyone to strive and do better in all that one does.
